Beauty Can Be Found In The Seemingly

A friend of mine has a quirky little smile that I delight in every time we meet. Some things are so simple that we sometimes chose to overlook them or make no choice at all but to ignore their possible influence upon us.It is the same feeling I get when I drive up my driveway and see the decorative hardware I have chosen for my working exterior shutters.. Each in their own way put a smile in my heart and a lilt to my spirits.I chose a long narrow bean style hinge front for the top and bottom of each shutter. I smile at the simplicity of design that I have chosen and yet the remarkable impact that the metal has against the shutters and the house. My friends smile, the funny little squirrel and the decorative hardware on my shutters. It is no wonder that I smile at each of these things that make me happy. And there is a squirrel that lives in my backyard that has mastered the art of sabotaging my bird feeder and he makes me smile every time I watch him hanging from his toes to get a few morsels of birdseed. Then a subtle but hardy “S” style shutter hold back and last but not lest I chose shutter bolts that gleam in the sun and say ‘Here I am. I took what might have been mundane and overlooked and made the entire assembly a thing of beauty. I have chosen to notice and take care in the things that make me happy. I am different from most.
